Partnering with Parents & Carers
Partnering with Parents & Carers
We recognise that every parent/carer wants the best for their child and our first priority is to work in close partnership with you to help your child to settle in and to feel safe. Every child at Colourbox has a ‘key person’ who will be your main contact within your child’s room, and, more importantly, will become a trusted and familiar adult to whom your child can relate. Your key person will guide you and your child through the settling-in period. Because each child’s settling-in experience is as individual as they are we do not limit the number of settling-in visits.
Parents/Carers are invited to contribute their ideas and suggestions at any time, and we hold Information evenings (covering topics such as “Helping your child with language and literacy”) and family activities e.g. picnics, camping days, holiday celebrations and Summer Graduation teas. You will be informed about these by your key person and through newsletters and noticeboards. You will be provided with access to your child’s online learning journal (we use ‘Blossom’) and we hope that you will also contribute to this so that we can work together to provide exciting learning opportunities for your child!
We participate in the Government nursery-funding scheme and would be delighted to advise you how this scheme might benefit your child. We also accept employer’s nursery vouchers.
Welfare at Colourbox Montessori
We take our duty to promote the protection and welfare of all children seriously and we therefore use Suffolk County Council’s ‘Safer Recruitment’ procedures to ensure that all staff and volunteers are thoroughly vetted. We also provide ongoing Safeguarding training and Health & Safety training for our team in accordance with best practice and current statutory requirements.
